Finding the Source of Inspiration
A simple brush stroke on canvas could be how it begins.
Perhaps in the formative years at vacation bible school, or at some
annual hometown arts and crafts fair a tiny spark becomes a blaze of inspiration
Perhaps while visiting friends and relatives you shaped, designed or built something that allowed an imaginative root to take hold and grow.
It begins at an early age in most cases, and at the moment the die was cast, you probably were totally unaware of the life-altering path you had just set sail upon, and those around you would’ve been totally oblivious to destiny’s influence.
Maybe the mental seed was sown while finger-painting or when cutting colored construction paper with a pair of safety scissors and the pungent scent of the pasty glue lit some inner fire.
For some it could’ve been the decoupage or the popcorn or beads strung end to end around your neck or on a freshly cut Christmas tree.
Perhaps while watching a clay potter mold their life's work in their soiled hands and feeling the intense heat from the kiln burnt a lasting impression on your soul or feeling the rough grain of the wood against your palm, and carving a design that could've only been fostered in a dream.
Perhaps the sound of musical bells, vibrating strings, and booming drums ignites a passion kindled ever since.
Whatever the spark, the spirit is touched deep down and compelled to enact a
life-long pattern.
